What the site is. An information and referral service that connects homeowners with independent heating and cooling contractors. It does no HVAC work, holds no contractor license and sells no equipment.

General information only. The pages describe how systems commonly fail and what a technician usually checks. They are not an inspection or a diagnosis of your system.

The contractor's terms govern the job. Estimates, scope, payment, cancellation and any warranty are between you and the contractor. This site is not a party to that agreement. Read what you sign and keep a copy.

Diagnostic visit and repair are separate. Contractors generally charge for the visit that finds the fault. Whether that charge is credited toward the repair differs from one contractor to the next; ask when the visit is booked.

No prices. No figures for any job are published here.

Availability. Coverage depends on which contractors are working a given ZIP code on a given day. Nothing here promises a visit within any period.

License and insurance. It is the homeowner's responsibility to verify that a hired contractor furnishes the license and insurance required for the work. In Texas, check the contractor's TDLR license number before work starts.

No warranty of work. This site does not warrant or guarantee any work performed by a contractor reached through it.

Accuracy. Pages carry the date they were last reviewed. Codes, equipment and refrigerants change, and a page can fall behind them.

Limitation. The site is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, it is not liable for loss arising from reliance on its pages or from work performed by an independent contractor.
